The Illini barely gave a whimper at the Edward Jones Dome in the 33-20 loss to the Missouri Tigers. Starting QB, Dustin Ward, was ineffective and later replaced by Jon Beujter. Is a QB controversy brewing?
Aug 30 - The Illini open up tomorrow at the Jones Dome.  They open as a 7.5 point favorite.  Early season games are hard to call.  Was last year a harvenger for this year's success or a fluke.  Mizzou hopes the latter, Illini the former!  See you at the dome tomorrow.
 
The Illini open their 2002 schedule with a border battle with Mizzou at the St. Louis Edward Jones Dome Sat, Aug 31. Mizzou is coming off a disappointing year.  Dustin Ward was just named the starting QB. No significant injuries, so the Illini should be a full strength. The lineups seem set. Let's get off to a great start.

Sept 28 L 28-45  Meechigan Michigan NO re-peat Big Ten champs this year.
Oct 5 L 10-31 MInnesota @ Minnesota Another embarrassing performance on national TV.
Oct 12 W/OT  38-31 Purdue Purdue Big win for the program.   Lose that one and the season is over.

Oct 26 W  45-14 Hoosiers Indiana (Homecoming) WE WIN TWO IN A ROW!!!  Those Hoosiers are hapless.
Nov 2 ESPN 2:30 Penn State @ Penn State Let's beat'em again
Nov 9 11:10am ??? Wisky @ Wisconsin They will have payback on their minds.
Nov 16 TBA OSU Ohio State Crack those nuts!
